Aging and UV rays cause skin aging
Need to take care of your skin from your 20s, the beginning of the aging process, to prevent skin aging

In the past, a pretty and gorgeous appearance with distinct features was the standard of beauty, but nowadays, looking younger than the original age is popular. As a person get older, the appearance naturally experiences aging, but it becomes unbearable to leave the traces of time, such as wrinkles and lost elasticity, all over the face.

In order to properly prevent skin aging, it is necessary to take care of it consistently from the age of 20, when aging begins. Let’s be reborn as a looking younger person through age-specific management from 20s to 50s. (This image is not related to the content of the article.)

There are 2 main causes of skin aging. The first is that aging naturally occurs with age. As we get older, the ability to produce collagen and elastic fibers decreases, and the secretion of growth factors and hormones for skin regeneration decreases. Moreover, as the arrangement of the soft tissues (fat layers) located under the skin begins to change, the fat on the forehead. Temples, around the eyes, nasolabial folds and around the mouth gradually decreases, and the fat on the lower part of the front cheekbones and under the chin (called the grumpy cheeks in Korea) increases and sags.

The second cause is the external harmful factors, typically UV rays. When a person is exposed to UV rays for a long period, active oxygen in the skin increases, and the ability to generate growth factors for generation decreases. In addition, substances that destroy collagen, such as MMP enzyme, are produced, and on the contrary, the function of collagen-making fibroblasts begins to gradually decline. In the process, the skin becomes thinner and weaker, and melanin is produced to protect the skin. The melanin pigment absorbs or scatters UV rays to prevent energy from penetrating into the skin to protect the skin. However, overexposure to UV rays and melanin pigment overproduction can cause problems such as melasma and spots.

Skin aging due to age and UV ray. If you can’t avoid it, how about delaying it? In order to properly prevent skin aging, it is necessary to take care of it consistently from the age of 20, when aging begins. Let’s be reborn as a looking younger person through age-specific management from 20s to 50s.

Dr. Jung Hyun Yoon, founder of Yonsei Fams (Eunpyung branch), said, “It is a good way to apply or inject skin boosters or vitamins such as stem cell growth factors and exosomes, or to use ionto to penetrate the skin. It is good to apply enough sunscreen and moisturizer.”
Dr. Junghyun Yoon, founder of Yonsei Fams (Eunpyung branch), said, “It is a good way to apply or inject skin boosters or vitamins such as stem cell growth factors and exosomes, or to use ionto to penetrate the skin. It is good to apply enough sunscreen and moisturizer.”

A period to think about aging, 20’s to 30’s

The period of the onset of aging is closely related to hormones. Productive activity takes place in the body until puberty when hormones are actively secreted. At that time, as you grow taller and the skin regenerates actively, the tissue gradually matures. After 20, hormones do not rise to a certain extent and remain the same. If a bad external stimulus is received, aging can start from that point. This is the reason why it is said that aging starts at the age of 20.

In the late 20s, facial wrinkles appear little by little, the skin becomes thinner, and the elasticity decreases. In such a case, it is better to reduce stress, and to continuously supplement antioxidants and vitamins that help our body to act as a lubricant in our body.

It is also important to get enough sleep at a set time. Even on the same day, hormonal changes occur according to time, and growth hormone is one of the hormones released during sleep. Growth hormone, which helps regeneration, is secreted intensively from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. If you stay up all night and go to bed at other times, even if you get enough sleep, the hormones you need are not replenished, so you need to change your lifestyle.

A period when skin function deteriorates and aging is prominent, 40’s to 50’s

The skin condition of middle-aged people varies greatly depending on how well they take care of it but as the skin becomes thinner due to aging to some extent, facial wrinkles appear easily around the eyes, on the bridge of the nose, between the eyebrows, and on the forehead. After 40, the skin begins to sag, and the tear sulcus wrinkles called Indian bands and marionette wrinkles around the mouth become severe, and the cheeks are sagging, making it look dull and painful.

Botulinum toxin treatment is effective in facial wrinkles. Facial wrinkles are formed when the skin folds when the muscles under the skin contract. Botulinum toxin improves wrinkles by weakening muscle movement for a certain period. In addition to facial wrinkles, the nasolabial folds and chin wrinkles that occur when the skin is thin can be improved with fillers and thread lifting.

To reach the menopause, the level of female hormones drops, and they experience a lot of sudden physical changes. Female hormones are involved not only in reproductive functions but also in everything and metabolism of the human body. It means the protective barrier of female hormones disappears. Due to the lack of regeneration and secretion, the skin becomes dry, and the skin barrier weakens, making it difficult to withstand external stimuli, causing troubles and sensitive skin. When rapid aging comes, such as enlarged pores and many wrinkles due to not preparing for menopause, it can be improved with fractional lasers that are effective for pore treatment or IPL that treats aging skin and pigment.

The elderly is not much different from the skin troubles of middle-aged people, but relatively the skin barrier function is greatly weakened, Skin barrier can be strengthened with sunscreen and moisturizer. (This image is not related to the content of the article.)

A period to manage for skin barrier actively, over 60

The elderly is not much different from the skin troubles of middle-aged people, but relatively the skin barrier function is greatly weakened, Skin barrier can be strengthened with sunscreen and moisturizer. Skin that is easily damaged by external factors can be minimized by building up a skin barrier. Dr. Yoon advised, “If you want to protect and strengthen the skin barrier and keep it for a long time even when exposed to external stimuli, it is better to use a product that can keep the skin slightly acidic (5.5 to 6.5 Ph). Also, if you want to use functional cosmetics, it is a good way to get consulting with doctors for the details of product.”
